We’re excited to launch the GOG Triathlon Club Parkrun Challenge, running from October 2026 through to February 2027!
We wanted to create something that isn’t simply about who can run the fastest. The challenge is designed so that everyone has something to compete for, whatever your age or current running ability.
There will be two leagues running side-by-side:
🏆 Age-Grading League – rewards your performance based on your official parkrun age-grade percentage.
📈 Improvement League – rewards how much you improve compared with your own previous performance.
Once you sign up, you’ll automatically be entered into both leagues.
Each month we’ll visit a different parkrun:
October: Y Promenade, Rhos on Sea
November: Penrhyn Castle
December: Nova Prestatyn
January: Newborough Forest
February: Conwy
We’ll have an official GOG meet-up on the second Saturday of each month, giving us a chance to run together, support each other and, most importantly, grab a coffee afterwards! You don't have to attend the official meet-up for your result to count. Just attend the designated location at least once that month - you'll have 4 or 5 Saturdays to choose from and you can run the designated parkrun as many times as you like during that month. Only your best qualifying performance counts towards the league.
Your best 4 monthly scores from the 5 months will count towards your final total, so you can miss a month – or simply drop your lowest score.
There will be prizes across the age categories in the Age-Grading League, prizes for the top in the Improvement League, plus a few spot prizesalong the way.
Entry is FREE! To enter you'll need have a valid parkrun barcode and current GOG Triathlon Club (please assign that to your parkrun profile to make it easier for us to find the results). Just choose to opt in.
Whether you’re chasing a PB, trying to improve your age grade, getting back into running or just fancy five months of friendly competition with your fellow GOGs, we’d love you to get involved.
